Dear all,

Welcome to the Academic Reading and Writing class for intermediate students. This course is Green and there is a second course which is Blue.

My name is Emma and I'll be teaching you every day of the course. I like this because I get to know you all better and we get to work more on the skills that you most need. I think I'm quite a friendly teacher but I really don't like students being late and students who miss lots of classes!

I'm married to a Malaysian and I have 3 children, aged 11, 9 and 7. I have lots of pets - can you guess that they are?! I have a cat with a broken paw who needs lots of care and cuddles at the moment but he's very sweet and a good patient! I have a big Malaysian family here and a small family back in England. At the end of July, I'm going to England for 3 days with my daughter to surprise my Grandma at her 90th birthday party!

I love reading. At the moment, I'm reading Cider with Rosie by Laurie Lee. It's a classic of English Literature. I like rowing with people from my old university and playing badmninton with my son. I'm Secretary of a Society too so that keeps me really busy.

I hope you'll enjoy the course and get lots of out it.

In the first class in Academic Reading and Writing I met new student from different countries one of them is Salman . He is from Iraq and he is married and he has got four children .
He likes watching TV , walking and surfing the internet . He speaks Arabic fluently and English quit well but he needs to improve it so he studying now in the British Council then he wants to finish his PHD in medicine in Syria .

I hope that you will enjoy the course and that you will get lots out of it. It's very important that you put a lot into the course for it to be a success. Therefore, make sure you do your homework. The more you put into the course, the more you will get out of it!

I have been in Malaysia for 13 years and have been teaching for 6 years. I love teaching and meeting students from lots of different countries. I'm married with 3 children aged 11, 9 and 7. I like reading and we like to have family bike rides together.

Hi,my name is Salman ,I'm 43 years old .I'm married and I have 4 children .My job is specialist orthopaedic surgeon and I have worked in many pravite hospitals for more than three years.I live and work in Yemen and I left my family in Yemen .I came to malaysia one month ago to study English and to improve my skills in this langaugue to heip me to apply to ajob in my field abroad and also for immigartion. I would like to learn more about writing and reading because I have some defects in these and these are very important in the my medical work.i hope to get better in writing and reading.

I need to learn English because I want to study in the university .
I'm quite good in listening and reading but I'm not good in speaking and writing .
My problem is the spilling I think it's realy big problem for me.

my names mohsen.i am 26 years old and from iran.i want to go to the university in julay.i live in kuala luampor now.i need to learn Engilish because i want to go to university.my listening is very poor.i need to practise listening and speaking.my grammar is not bad but spelling and writing not very good.my derem is take IELTS 7 but i need to practise a lot of.my teacher told me this course is useful if you are going to university.i need to learn new vocabulary.
